Alignment is hard to define. It’s not a psychological concept, but something we feel in the body. A deeper sense of inner coherence. An intuitive knowing that we’re moving in the right direction; and it’s the foundation of what I call alignment stacking.
It’s not always the easy path, but it’s one that brings more flow.
It makes challenges feel worthwhile.
You’re calm. Spacious. Even when you’re stepping into uncertainty or chaos.
When you’re out of alignment, everything feels like a push.
When you’re in alignment, it feels more like a pull.
We might imagine alignment as something dramatic; a breakthrough, a bold decision, a major shift. But in reality, it begins with something much quieter. It shows up in the small, subtle choices. The kind that slowly guide us back into connection with ourselves.
And once we start bringing the little things into alignment, a momentum begins to form. This is what I call alignment stacking; the practice of returning to what feels true, one small shift at a time.
What Is Alignment Stacking?
Alignment stacking is about building inner coherence. It’s the process of layering daily decisions that bring you into deeper integrity with your energy, your values, your body and your truth.
It doesn’t happen all at once. With presence, you begin to listen to the subtle messages from your body that bring you into greater harmony. These may include :
- Speaking what needs to be said, even when it feels uncomfortable
- Trusting the quiet signals when something doesn’t feel right
- Following what lights you up and makes you feel more alive
- Choosing the small things that bring warmth, joy or ease
- Honouring your energy by gently stepping away from what depletes it
Alignment isn’t something you think your way into. It’s a felt sense.
It’s the exhale your nervous system gives you when something finally feels right.
Out of Alignment
When you’re not in alignment, it might not look dramatic; but it usually feels off-centre.
These are signs that something is misaligned. You might notice:
- A quiet hum of anxiety
- Living for outside approval
- Exhaustion, brain fog or low energy
- Resentment that you can’t quite name
- A need to explain or justify yourself constantly
- That you’re doing everything “right” but feel disconnected
The outer structure might still be holding, but the inner truth is slipping.
Why the Little Things Matter
We often try to fix our lives by focusing on the big stuff; career, relationships, purpose.
But the biggest shifts often come from the smallest realignments. That’s what makes alignment stacking so powerful. It’s a gentle, ongoing re-calibration.
You build integrity by layering the small things that feel right until the big things no longer need forcing.
One clear boundary.
One moment of stillness.
One decision to rest instead of push.
One honest conversation.
These moments stack. When you begin alignment stacking, you build momentum around the parts of you that say Yes. You slowly phase out the things that drain you; without excuse, without justification.
You simply choose to live in alignment with your deepest truths.
Eventually, the inner momentum becomes so strong that the outside begins to match it.
A Case Study
One client came to me completely burned out; convinced they couldn’t take time off work.
They were stuck in a loop; desperate for rest but unable to give themselves permission.
As we explored the depth of their burnout, it became clear that deep rest wasn’t a luxury; it was a necessity. When they softened to that truth and surrendered to it, something unexpected happened.
Their company offered them a two-month paid break; exactly what they needed to reset.
You could call it luck, or coincidence. I would call it synchronicity.
I’ve seen these seemingly casual links happen too many times to believe it’s random.
When you align with your deepest truths, the universe responds.
Opportunities open. Support arrives. The path clears.
And when you align not just with one truth but many, the effect becomes exponential.
Start Where You Are
You don’t need to overhaul your life. Or need a five year vision.
You just need to stop abandoning what you already know.
Start with one area that feels out of sync.
Bring your attention there.
Feel what’s true. Then act from that place.
Build slowly. Gently. Layer by layer.
Once you stack one alignment, something shifts.
There’s more space. More clarity. More energy.
Alignment stacking isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing what’s true.
